day three done!

morning folks, and welcome to my review of day three:

it’s been a good day, we recorded three more songs and also almost finished “sunday morning” and it sounds awesome with all the vocals. today we have to crank it up a notch because we invited the drummer for tomorrow, which means i have to drink more coffee!

last night i also made some “tagliatelle alla gorgonzola e spinacy” and i have to say it was pretty good. guido liked it and thats what counts!

i also hope that my brother can manage to come to sing his part in our old song today, but i am not sure if he can make it.

well, time to get to work, folks!

…day done!

well, unfortunately we had to cut this day short, because guido’s kids are ill and he had to bake some pizza with them. but still, we were able to record two more songs for the album.

today we will hopefully manage to record around five to six more songs. that’s my goal at least, we’ll see how that works out.

the guest drummer is scheduled for sunday and i caught guido several times playing and improvising bass lines over my songs. i think he likes them, which i find good.

i also want to cook tonight, since i think i will be staying at the studio, but i haven’t decided on what to cook yet.

any suggestions?

first studio day done

so i am lying here on the couch in the “legendary” blubox studio, quite exhausted i might add, after an overall successful day. after some testing and experimenting with several sounds, effects and guitars, we started the first recordings around 3 p.m. and continued, with a small break to zap into the soccer game at around 11 p.m. with 3 recorded songs. at least the basics.

well, 4 days and 15 songs to go. lots a work to do!

2009 and counting…

ah hell, it’s been another few weeks in which i didn’t really have time to write or post anything at all…

so, 2008′s come and gone, we (we being my band bettie ford) released our second album, i had a really great trip to thailand and… yeah, what else happened in 2008? i bet a lot of stuff, i just don’t remember it. fuck, i am getting old (yeah, yeah, i know, i AM old).

so, whats up with 2009?

well, first of all i might tell you, that i am going to record my first solo album, starting in february. it’s time to put all those songs that didn’t make it into any of my bands on “tape” (i.e. hard disc nowadays) and see what i can do with it. hopefully i will find a publisher, if not, well… let’s talk about that afterwards.

also, starting in late january ’09, i will start working on the next bettie ford with my buddy brat and let me tell those of you who knows the band and our music: you’re in for a fucking surprise. we’re going to try some new and old stuff and see where we end up.

what else? oh, i plan on moving. i am sick of the shitheads that live in the flat above mine, CONSTANTLY playing techno.

well, thats it for now, i’ll keep you updated. sort of.
